Myakka River Park of Venice

I took another trip to Venice today to check out the bike trail and the Myakka River Park of Venice. The park is now open and doesn’t look any different.

The kayak launch ramp is just waiting for us. The Legacy Bike Trail bridge is complete except for the screen covering above the roadway. It looks like it should be completed soon.

The rest of the trail is open but not the bridge.

Myakka River Park

Myakka River Park opens in Venice – Click here for the WWSB ABC 7 news and video

Cars are not able to go beyond the parking lot so one would need wheels to transport kayak or canoes to the launch.

This park will be closing for 8 months while a pipe line is being constructed bringing more water to this area from the Peace River.
